Wind River volunteers busy all over town

Wind River volunteers have been busy all over Madison in the last week.  On Saturday August 2nd, a team from Wind River participated in Project Home’s 26th annual Paint-a-Thon, an event held to paint home exteriors for low-income homeowners in Dane County and surrounding areas.

Project Home provides a variety programs and services to help home-owners in our community with basic home repairs and maintenance.  Since 1989, Project Home has helped paint 500 homes in Dane County alone. The Wind River team helped to paint a home on Madison’s east side.  Thank you to Project Home for coordinating this great event.  Thanks also to our Team Leader, Monica, who guided us all to a successfully completed project!  (Monica is shown below with our site supervisor, Newman the cat.)

On Monday August 4th, the Wind River team returned to the Ronald McDonald House in Madison to make a meal for families staying there.  The Ronald McDonald House provides a “home away from home” for families whose children are undergoing treatment at Madison area health care facilities.  Our group always enjoys making a meal at the Ronald McDonald House.  Their staff does a fantastic job of educating our group on their mission, and how preparing meals and other volunteer projects support that mission.
